Based in the vibrant East End of London, Nahara creates luxury fashion garments inspired by traditional culture.
Inspired by global art and culture, working with artists and highly skilled artisans, each collection experiments with ideas in tradition and modernity. Producing beautiful and unique clothing, Nahara also tells the stories of the people who keep these valuable skills alive.
The contemporary, stylish clothing ranges produced by Nahara see modern designs combined with traditional textile crafts such as weaving, embroidery and shibori dyeing. Nahara allows a woman to be modern, urban and spiritual and to connect with artisans expressing their global art and textile heritage. Each garment in the Nahara collections uses high quality fabric and creates modest, fluid cuts.
What’s more, Nahara seeks to produce clothes that create work for people in good environments, allowing them to support their families without having to work in poor conditions.
Nahara was created in 2013 by Sonya Ahmed. Born in Libya to Bangladeshi parents, Sonya now lives in London and works as a doctor. Sonya established Nahara with the vision of allowing women to access contemporary designs that have a rich meaning and global.
