Eternal Design, Nahara 2012 signature print

The signature print for Nahara’s first collection has been created by artist, Samir Malik. Samir’s original calligraphy painting is a heavily stylised version of the word “al-Hayy” meaning “The Everlasting”. A small fragment of the word was enlarged and printed onto silk. Once printed on silk, the colours are shown to be breathtakingly beautiful, blending into each other, yet retaining their original colour. By creating a heavily stylised design and using paint instead of the more traditional calligraphy inks, the final result looks abstract and contemporary.
